We would like to make residents in the East Cowton area aware of a recent report regarding a white male seen going door‑to‑door at approximately 2pm on Thursday 26th March. At this time, his intentions are unknown, and no offences have been reported.

However, we are sharing this information to ensure the community remains vigilant.

If you noticed this individual, were visited by him, or have any CCTV, doorbell camera footage, or information that may help us, please get in touch.

We would also like to remind residents of the following safety advice when dealing with unexpected callers:

Do not feel pressured to open the door to anyone you are not expecting.

Check identification through the letterbox or window and verify it using a trusted phone number—not one provided by the caller.

Keep doors and windows locked before answering to ensure no one can enter your property without permission.

If someone makes you feel uncomfortable or refuses to leave when asked, contact police immediately.

Please continue to report any suspicious behaviour to us on 101, or 999 if the individual is present and causing concern.
